In a brief statement, Lisa said,
“I deeply grateful to Mayor Adams for giving me the opportunity to serve the city, and I strongly support the work he has done and continues to do for New Yorkers.”
Moreover, Adams thanked Lisa for her 13 months of city service and said he expects to name an acting replacement in the coming days. He added,
“These are hard jobs and we don’t expect anyone to stay in them forever,” “We wish Lisa all the best in her future endeavors. The other senior members of the counsel’s team will remain in their roles to ensure the office continues to fully operate without issue.”
Eric Adam’s spokesperson released a copy of Lisa’s three-sentence resignation letter.
“It has been a great honor to serve the City. I am tendering my resignation, effective today, as I have concluded that I can no longer effectively serve in my position,” she wrote. “I wish you nothing but the best.”
Her departure came a day after NYPF Commissioner Edward Caban was forced out and one week after federal agents raided his home and seized the cell phone.
Lisa Zornberg’s Husband, Matt Horowitz, Is Very Supportive
Lisa Zornberg, 53, is happily married to Matt Horowitz. Their exact date of marriage has not been disclosed yet.
They were recently seen strolling around Manhasset, LI, on Sunday, September 15, 2024, the day after Lisa resigned.
On September 8, 2021, Lisa posted a photo with Matt on her Facebook handle. Her close ones poured a lovely comment on the comment section. One user wrote,

However, Lisa and Matt haven’t revealed their children on social media handles.
Matt, 59, was born to his father, Harold Horowitz, who sadly took his last breath on October 30, 2015, at 88.
He lived in New Windsor earlier when his father, Harold, was the executive director of the McQuade Foundation, a residential treatment center for troubled children.
Horowitz described his father as a great man with tremendous compassion, quiet dignity, and an ironic sense of humor.
On June 19, 2016, Matt uploaded a photo of his father on his Facebook handle in his memory.
Matt is actively involved in fundraising campaigns. Recently, on August 11, 2024, he donated to a Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fundraiser.
Earlier in 2023, he donated to Cynthia X Pan’s birthday fundraiser for the Chinese American Medical Society.
However, Matt has supported the decision to resign from the post of chief of the Criminal Division.
