Former USA Gymnastics Doctor Larry Nassar Stabbed Multiple Times in Prison
Larry Nassar, a former doctor for USA Gymnastics who was found guilty of sexually abusing young athletes by pretending it was medical treatment, was attacked inside a federal prison in Florida, as reported by two sources aware of the incident.
According to Joe Rojas, president of the local correction officers’ union, Nassar was stabbed a total of 10 times twice in the neck, twice in the back, and six times in the chest.
Rojas commended the quick response of the corrections officers who saved Nassar’s life. He mentioned that Nassar’s condition is currently stable.
The Bureau of Prisons released a statement stating that on July 9, 2023, at around 2:35 pm, an inmate was assaulted at the United States Penitentiary (USP) Coleman II in Sumterville, Florida.
Similarly, the staff immediately took life-saving measures, called for emergency medical services, and continued their efforts to save Nassar’s life.
The statement also mentioned that an internal investigation into the incident is underway. The inmate, confirmed to be Nassar by a reliable source, was transported to a hospital for treatment.
