Kendall Gray Hawaii news has been trending on social media as he was arrested and placed on a second-degree murder charge.

On Sunday night, a 23-year-old suspect was arrested for second-degree murder many hours after allegedly assaulting an older man during an eviction.

Kendall Gray, the suspect, was apprehended at 7:40 pm Sunday, according to Police. The fatal incident occurred shortly before 3:30 pm on the sidewalk in front of an apartment complex at 620 Sheridan St. in the Ala Moana neighborhood.

According to HPD, the 64-year-old victim was beaten while attempting to evict the suspect’s girlfriend from her property.

Kendall Gray, 23, was arrested and placed on a second-degree murder charge concerning the death of Alvin Matsumoto, 64, on Sunday evening.

Officers from the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) were called to an apartment complex on Sheridan Street in the Ala Moana neighborhood at about 3:30 pm on Sunday, according to Hawaii News Now.

When officers arrived, they saw Matsumoto bleeding heavily from his head on the sidewalk, according to HPD Lt. Deena Thoemmes.

He was brought to Queen’s Hospital Center in severe condition and died later that day. According to Police, Matsumoto attempted to evict the suspect’s girlfriend when he was viciously beaten. He allegedly lived on the second level of the apartment building.

Shawn Giles, who also owns a unit in the building, told Hawaii News Now that he was at home on Sunday at 3 pm when he heard loud noises. He decided to walk downstairs after hearing the commotion for a few minutes.

He claimed that he witnessed the man pulling Matsumoto down the steps at that point. “He’s dragging him after him like a caveman. Just pulling the body, “Giles stated.

Gray has also been charged with the murder of his 23-year-old girlfriend. After a recent Hawaii Supreme Court rule on grand jury indictments, Gray was indicted and charged with the alleged murder of his girlfriend by an Oahu grand jury. 

Gray might now be prosecuted anew in the murder case, which had previously been rejected owing to a lack of probable cause. The circumstances of Kendall Gray’s two instances present a troubling picture of a young guy with a violent streak.

Giles claimed he dashed to his phone to call the Police. As he returned outside, he stated that the bloodied Matsumoto had been carried outside. He stated he waited with Matsumoto until emergency responders came.

According to KITV4, the suspect fled the area in a black Nissan car.

Just before 8 pm on Sunday, officers discovered him near the attack scene on the 1200 block of Hopaka Street. He was arrested, and his automobile was hauled to the Police station as evidence.
