Jordan Blake pioneered the high-pitched clean vocals mixed with screaming that became prominent in the post-hardcore music genre.
Blake departed the band during a tour in November 2007 owing to health difficulties that rendered him unable to continue traveling. Jonny Craig, who also took part, acted as a temporary replacement for the band during recording a demo of “Knights of the Round.”

Craig was then replaced by Craig Mabbitt, formerly of Blessthefall, before Michael “Jag” Jagmin was added to the current lineup. Jordan Blake later formed Speak of the Devil in 2013.

Jordan Blake, the founding member of the post-hardcore band A Skylit Drive, has died.
The band verified the news on social media. Jordan’s cause of death has not been revealed. During this time, the family has requested privacy.
As reported last, Jordan Blake halted A Skylit Drive in late 2007 owing to health problems. However, there is no evidence that his departure was motivated by mental illness or suicide.

In addition to being known as the lead vocalist of A Skylit Drive, the frontman has also worked with Ann Arbor, Trances, and Watchout! There are Ghosts, as well as Speak of the Devil. He was born to a brother and a sister on June 20, 1986, in Lodi, California.
Jordan Blake and Joshua Stotts formed the band Watch Out! following their departure from ASD. There are Spirits in the room. The band signed with Rise Records and released a single, “Ghost Town” album on that label. The group has only released one music video for their single “The Shakeup.”
There were reports that the band would release a second album titled “Ghost Town 2.0” in 2012. However, the record was never published.

“We are heartbroken to inform you of Jordan’s death early this morning. Jordan was an emo/post-hardcore music industry trailblazer with tremendous passion who treated his followers like family.
You could read a narrative in his lyrics, hear it in his voice, see it in his motions, and feel it in your bones when he had a story to tell. We will always cherish the music and memories we shared. We love you, Jordan, and we’ll see you later. “You will always be in our hearts.”
We will refrain from commenting until further notice to respect Jordan’s family’s desires for privacy and room to grieve. I appreciate all of your notes and kind words and Sentiments. All of you will carry on his legacy.”
Dance’s Jonny Craig Gavin Dance also shared his sympathies on Instagram:
“This one hits home for me. I tried to assist, but sometimes our words were insufficient. I hope you found peace, sir since you left so many of us in pain: love you. RIP, @jordanblakesees.”
