On September 26, 2012, the bodies of Johnny Lewis and his landlady, 81-year-old Catherine Davis, were found at her home.
Davis had been operating a bed-and-breakfast called the Writers’ Villa out of her Hollywood home for aspiring performers, directors, and writers.
Having lived there before in 2009, Johnny Lewis had moved back into the residence before the events of September 26, 2012.
Upon hearing the sounds of screams and witnessing Johnny Lewis attacking two individuals at an adjacent property, neighbors contacted the Police the same day of the incident.
The LAPD officers who responded to the incident found Johnny Lewis’ body on the property’s driveway.
Meanwhile, inside the home, landlady Davis was found dead with severe head injuries, and her cat was also discovered dead in a bathroom.
No evidence of drugs or alcohol was found in the system of Johnny Lewis, as reported by the autopsy released on November 29, 2012.
Johnny Lewis’ lawyer put forward the theory that the Actor’s earlier drug abuse could have triggered drug-induced psychosis, which might have played a part in the alleged murder of his landlady.
However, the analysis of the toxicology reports indicated that Johnny Lewis had not consumed any alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, psychedelic drugs, or anti-psychotic medication at the time of his death.

He had pleaded no contest to both of the charges and was under the custody of Police for several days to a few weeks.
According to an article in Los Angeles magazine by Bill Jensen, Lewis and his legal team advocated for rehab for his marijuana addiction.
After he declined, they endeavored to secure rehab for his alcoholism to circumvent a trial.
On September 21, 2012, Johnny Lewis was released from a jail in Los Angeles County, California, to pass away five days later tragically.
