The private Cessna jet originated from Elizabethton, Tennessee, and came dangerously close to the US Capitol building and the White House on Sunday afternoon.

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials noted the unusual flight path of the plane, which ultimately resulted in the fatal crash. John Rumpel revealed that their entire family was on board the doomed flight.

Virginia State Police corroborated the Rumpel’s devastating loss by confirming no survivors among the four people on board the private jet. The plane belonged to Encore Motors of Melbourne Inc, which the Rumpel family owns.

The Rumpels, known for their significant contributions to conservative political campaigns, including former President Donald Trump’s, have left an indelible mark on American politics.

Barbara Rumpel has been an influential figure within the NRA, serving on the Women’s Leadership Council since 2002 and spending over six years on the organization’s Executive committee.

Despite being headed for Long Island, New York, the private jet took a U-turn and started moving towards Washington, DC. US military officials were forced to scramble fighter jets from Andrews Air Force Base to intercept the aircraft.

The private jet began a rapid spiraling descent during the pursuit, eventually crashing in the St. Mary’s Wilderness.

While the F-16 interceptor was authorized to travel at supersonic speeds, leading to a sonic boom, military officials denied involvement in causing the crash. According to local reports, the search for the crash site is ongoing in Staunton.
