A readiness hearing will be held in December to ensure that the trial is ultimately prepared to begin.
Judge Timothy Gartelmann stated in the Downing Center District Court on Wednesday that the matter has been ongoing for a while and is far off.
Currently, Shao is out on bail while her trial is backed up. Essential witnesses have left the country, and foreign authorities were unwilling to allow them to testify through the audiovisual link.
Not to mention, over two years ago, Shao’s lawyer Winston Terracini KC affirmed the defense case was “ready to rock ‘n’ roll.”
On the other hand, she did not have Australian medical qualifications when she allegedly performed the procedure.
Further, She is the subject of temporary ban orders issued by the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission.
The commission advises Shao to refrain from providing medical services to any public members, whether through paid employment or voluntarily.
