Gunfire in Colorado School’s Suspects Appear In Court

.Recently, on May 7, Tuesday, a school shooting near Columbine High School resulted in tragedy as ‘one’ student dead while ‘eight’ others injured.
The suspects are currently in custody for the horrifying shooting at the STEM School Highlands Ranch, Colorado. According to reports by Douglas Country Sheriff Tony Spurlock, about 1,850 students were present in the school.

Subsequently, after the shootings, Tony reveals the two suspects are male. One of the suspects is an adult male Devon Erickson, 18, while the other is believed to be a younger kid.

However, Spurlock notes that the suspects are school students. Also, he mentions that the alleged shooter, Erickson remains in the hands of custody for investigation. Devon resides just a mile from the school at Elk Ranch.
Neither of the suspects – Devon Erickson and a 16-year-old student, Alec McKinney were formally charged.

The officers shared the suspects initially started firing in two classrooms at STEM school Highlands Ranch. Reportedly the officers reached the crime scene immediately before 2 p.m. There is a law enforcement substation near the location.
STEM school’s Robert Helfer, 13, shared he “was in math class when he heard a disturbance.”
“Everyone thought it was a theater play at first. Then when we just started hearing banging and gunshots and cursing,” the seventh-grader murmurs, his eyes red, his shaking hands twisting a plastic water bottle. “There was a body by the door when the police officer came to get us.”
The Horrific Event Lead Many Students Critical, Sheriff Says
Furthermore, the consequences of the incident lead two students injured in a critical situation. Above all, two are stable, and one in good condition, as shared by the Littleton Adventist Hospital, USA.
“Over the next few minutes, quite a few shots were fired,” Douglas County Undersheriff Holly Nicholson-Kluth shared.

Nicholson added, “As officers were arriving at the school, they could still hear gunshots, and as they were entering the school.” The first sheriff’s deputies arrived within two minutes and engaged the suspects, Spurlock states.
What’s Next: Actions After the Incident
Douglas Country School District later tweets, currently, the STEM School’s lockdown following the incident. It is reportedly for the furthermore security and investigation.

Spurlock said officers “did struggle with the suspects to take them into custody. We do know that we do not have any other suspects.
“We have all the people that are involved,” Spurlock said. Authorities had initially said they were looking for a possible third suspect.
“Our prayers are with the victims, family members, and all those affected by today’s shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch in Littleton, Colorado,” the White House said in a statement.
