Flea is alive and continues to make music with the band. He’s also quite active on Instagram, sharing updates about his life and music.

Flea also has a podcast called “This Little Light,” where he talks to other artists.

From all signs, Flea looks healthy, happy, and very much involved in life.

Some recent news has confused fans. On October 1, 2024, Mont Bodine, or Flea Bodine, passed away.

He was also a bassist and played in a pop-punk band called Judge Nothing from Alton, Illinois.

Judge Nothing had a good run in the mid-’90s after signing with the Chicago indie label Thick Records in 1995.

They gained a reputation for their live shows at clubs and dive bars, earning them the nickname “The Badfinger of Punk.”

Flea Bodine from Judge Nothing and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers are not directly connected, even though they both play bass and share a similar name.

The confusion among fans is understandable. When news of Flea Bodine’s death came out, many mistakenly thought it was Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers who had passed away.

Even a Reddit fan explained that a different bassist, Flea from Alton, Illinois, had died.
