People Thought the Incident Happened Due To Duc Minh Bui’s Battle With Depression

While the exact reason behind the incident has not been revealed yet, many people speculated that Duc k*lled his co-worker due to a mental health disorder.

Following the mass s*ooting of 2021 at VTA, many employees and their families faced mental health challenges for which the company itself provided free mental health awareness programs.

Multiple lawsuits were filed against VTA, the sheriff’s office, and Allied Universal, a private security company contracted to protect VTA facilities from both families of those who were assassinated.

Moreover, a former bus driver alleged that the mass s*ooting incident worsened his post-traumatic stress disorder.

VTA contracted Therapists to provide counseling sessions for the employees and their families.

Through their official websites, they announced the names of therapists who were made available to meet with employees who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, or were having difficulty communicating, focusing, or feeling stressed.

When calling the therapists for service, employees were told to carry the ID proofs to confirm whether they were VTA employees or family members of VTA employees.

However, the company and investigators haven’t disclosed Duc’s specific illness and health issues.

Further investigation is ongoing, and SCCSO has announced that anyone with information on this incident can inform their office at 408-808-4500
