David James Archuleta is a pop singer from the United States. He won the Utah Talent Competition’s children’s section when he was 10, leading to more televised singing performances. He won the Junior Vocal Champion title on the second season of Star Search, dubbed “Star Search 2,” when he was twelve.

Archuleta was a Boy Scouts of America member who fulfilled the final criteria for the rank of Eagle Scout while competing on American Idol in 2008, 3 days shy of his 18th birthday; however, he did not receive the honor until two years later.

He released “Crush,” the first single off his self-titled first album, in August 2008. Three months later, the album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 list, selling over 750,000 copies in the United States and over 900,000 globally.

David Archuleta suffered a vocal chord hemorrhage in February, forcing him to cancel his tour. Due to this vocal cord condition, he announced the delay of his gig at The Troubadour in West Hollywood on February 7, 2022.

During the May 2 special “The Great Idol Reunion,” Archuleta shocked fans who went viral for their emotional reaction to his Idol failure in 2008. He did not take the stage since he is recovering from voice surgery.

The next day, the “Crush” singer canceled seven additional gigs, informing his Instagram fans of his diagnosis and announcing a 10-day vocal rest period. “I hemorrhaged a vocal chord and must let it recover to avoid more harm.” “I also have voice nodules,” he explained.

A vocal hemorrhage occurs when blood vessels in the vocal folds break, according to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and therapy typically consists of moderate to total vocal rest.

And on February 16, 2022, the artist canceled the entire tour. “We have decided to cancel the ‘OK, All Right’ tour after much thinking and discussion with my team and the venues,” he posted on Instagram that day. 

“I’m still recovering from my voice problem, and it’s taking much longer than expected.” I want to ensure that I recover so that I may return without causing irreversible harm.”

David Archuleta Injury Update: Recovery Explored 

Another vocal cord problem that David Archuleta has battled with is vocal nodules. Archuleta underwent vocal surgery in March 2022 due to nodules and blood vessels on and in his vocal cords. 

These nodules and blood vessel problems were addressed and resolved during surgery. Dr. Shawn Nasseri, who treated Archuleta when he was about 12 or 13, also conducted the current procedure.

After his voice surgery in March 2022, David Archuleta updated his followers on his rehabilitation via Instagram. He stated that the operation went well and that he was resting his voice as part of his recovery. 

Those recuperating from vocal cord disorders such as hemorrhages and nodules must rest their voices and practice proper vocal care to assist in recovery.

David Archuleta has been candid about his mental health issues, which he partly blames on his experience on “American Idol.” Despite these obstacles, he has used music for therapeutic and self-expression. 

Archuleta’s eighth studio album, “Therapy Sessions,” was published in 2020, and he expects it will resonate with many others coping with similar circumstances.
