Growing up in such a big family profoundly impacted the musician’s life, shaping his values, creativity, and personality.
His family moved several times during his youth: first to the Midland-Odessa area of West Texas and later to Houston.
At the age of 16, the artist’s mom got him his first guitar, as he was very interested in music. Eventually, he did not play too much, and the guitar stayed in the closet.
A year later, approximately, the celebrity hitchhiked his way to Laredo, Texas, just in the hopes of a job with his dad and used it along on that trip.
Unfortunately, his dad passed away by attempting to k*ll himself and his mother lost her life from alcohol consumption, which he wrote in his song, Never Far Behind.

There’s a song called Never Far Behind on there that i wrote about my parents. Its really kind of the first song that like i really directly kind of wrote about them in a way they both kind of, my dad committed s*icide and my mother drank herself to d*ath.
