Amanda Hoffert was declared dead at the site of the ATV collision near Black Hollow Road just south of Village Hill Road at 6:25 pm, according to State Police.
Following an all-terrain vehicle collision in Tell Township on Saturday, March 11, 2023, an award-winning labor and delivery nurse from Ephrata died, and her husband remains in the hospital, Pennsylvania State Police reported in a statement the next day.

The collision happened at 6:25 pm on Saturday in Huntingdon County, according to a press release from Pennsylvania State Police. Both the driver, Bret Hoffert, 36, and the passenger, Amanda Hoffert, 34, were “ejected” after the car skidded into a ditch and flipped.
According to authorities, Amanda died at the scene, while Bret was transferred to a nearby hospital. According to a GoFundMe page, the couple was on a “mountain weekend trip with pals” when the “horrific catastrophe” occurred.

“Amanda died at the scene, and Bret is presently in serious condition at a Pittsburgh trauma center,” a note on the fundraiser website stated.
“Anyone who knows these parents of four lovely children will attest to their willingness to go above and beyond for family, friends, and strangers,” the letter said. “Please assist this wonderful family with funeral expenses, hospital bills, and caring for their young children.”
According to her Facebook profile, Amanda is a registered nurse at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health and is a mother of four.
