Lewis Capaldi Depression was a topic of discussion as the 26-year-old Scottish singer talked about his new Netflix documentary, How I’m Feeling Now.
He humorously and self-deprecatingly recounted that he was approached about the documentary in 2019, before the pandemic, when he had a good year.

Lewis Capaldi, the star from West Lothian, has shared about his battles with mental health and how he has learned to accept his sudden ascent to stardom.
He credits his down-to-earth nature to still living with his parents, who helped him stay grounded during the success of his hit song “Someone You Loved.”
Capaldi’s single, “Someone You Loved,” shattered UK chart records and held a top 10 spot for a British act for an unprecedented amount of time.
Despite achieving great success, the modest star from Whitburn admitted to feeling undeserving of it and opened up about his experiences dealing with anxiety and panic attacks.
He added that having a number-one song for seven consecutive weeks was an abnormality and that he, like anyone else, did not deserve such an accomplishment.
Lewis expressed that clout started making him anxious and depressed because of Imposter Syndrome.
Additionally, he described the experience of having a song reach such massive success as feeling disconnected from it, as if it were happening to someone else and he was just a spectator.
The Scottish Actor spoke about his twice-daily panic attacks, CBT therapy, and his commitment to making future performances anxiety-friendly.
He also revealed that his panic attacks stem from a fear of death, likely due to his tendency to be a hypochondriac, a trait he shares with his Father.
Lewis Capaldi Mental Health Update
Reflecting on the past about Lewis Capaldi’s depression and mental health, he now recognizes the absurdity of his anxieties. However, having worked through them, he understands them better and feels much improved in 2023.
Lewis was previously unaware of how much of a physical toll anxiety could take on the body. However, he considers himself fortunate to be comfortable discussing his struggles with his mother and seeking help for his panic and anxiety issues.
He attends regular Cognitive Behavioral Therapy sessions with a trained therapist to understand his anxiety better and acquire techniques to cope with it, including controlled breathing exercises.

Lewis Capaldi Tourette Tics

Lewis Capaldi has disclosed that he was diagnosed with Tourette’s in September 2022, and he recently stated that the symptoms have been increasingly severe while he performs on stage.
In his recent Netflix documentary, Capaldi shared his symptoms and mentioned that he encountered uncontrollable shoulder twitches, eventually leading to his diagnosis.
Capaldi publicly announced his diagnosis to prevent misunderstandings about his condition, stating that he did not want people to assume he was using cocaine.
