That was something Mark Sears took to heart. He scribbled his fantasy on yellow paper and taped it on his wall. He hoped to play for an SEC school and win a national title. Nevertheless, in high school, both felt far.

Sears initially received offers from UAB, South Alabama, and Washington State, but not all were accepted. Some were dropped for a variety of reasons.

He ended his outstanding sophomore season with a career-high 37 points and seven rebounds in the team’s final CBI quarterfinal game against Abilene Christian.

Similarly, he scored 20 points or more in 18 of the team’s 35 games, including three double-doubles.

Who Are Chad Sears And Lameka Sears? Meet Mark Sears Parents

Chad Sears and Lameka Sears are the proud parents of American College Basketball player Mark Sears, born on February 19, 2002.

At Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Sears attended Muscle Shoals High School to start his high school career. His mother, Lameka, taught him Habakkuk in his first year of high school.

His parents were the most significant supporter of all time. Mark’s Father, Chad, began teaching in 2019 as a 2nd-grade teacher.

When not working, Sears enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Lameka and their 5-year-old son Mark, who went to UNA.

In 2009, he also earned a master’s degree in elementary education from Grand Canyon University. He is fortunate to have the chance to work for a top-notch educational system (Florence City Schools).

Meet Mark Sears Sister Makenzie Sears

Mark Sears grew up along with her sister Makenzie. Sadly there is no more information about his sister. They are living happily with their parents, Chad Sears and Lameka Sears.

He wrote down his dream on a piece of yellow paper and fastened it to his wall. He wanted to win a championship and play for an SEC school. But both seemed far apart in high school.

When Sears first received offers, several—from schools like UAB, South Alabama, and Washington State—were declined. For a variety of circumstances, some were left behind.

Sears began his high school education at Muscle Shoals High School in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

With 31 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, he upset Bessemer City High School 64-52 in the Class 6A Northwest Regional final in February 2019. He led the team to the Class 6A state semifinal as a junior.

In August 2019, Sears quit the facility, it was discovered. He then made the switch to Hargrave Military Academy.

Mark Sears Student-Athlete Journey

As Jason Preston sustained a leg injury and had to miss time, Sears saw more significant playing time as a freshman.  

Sears was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team with an average of 8.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.  

Sears was designated the team’s starting point guard heading into his sophomore Campaign after Preston announced his intent to enter the 2021 NBA Draft after the season.

He attempted 15,000 three-point shots throughout the offseason to work on his shooting.

With the help of their 33 points, Sears defeated USC Upstate 85–70 on December 21, 2021. He scored a career-high 37 points on March 21, 2022, in a 91-86 loss to Abilene Christian in the College Basketball Invitational.

After the 2021–22 season, Sears was chosen for the First Team All-MAC. As a sophomore, he averaged 19.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. On March 30, 2022, Sears entered the transfer portal.
