Stephen Patrick Mackey, an English performer and music composer, played bass for the alternative rock band Pulp, which he joined in 1989.

Steve had moved to London in 1988 to pursue his passion for filming, and in that city, at the Royal College of Art, he received his MA in Film in 1992.

In 2021, as Mackey was recuperating from his Cancer treatment, he had a stroke. After the stroke, his left side was weak, and he had difficulty communicating, but he wouldn’t let that stop him.
With the help of experienced therapists and his determination, Mackey began a demanding rehabilitation program that included physical, speech, and occupational therapy.
He also turned to his family and colleagues during this challenging time, who supported him.
Steve Mackey has remained upbeat and future-focused throughout his journey with health.
He has continued to work on his various initiatives, including a recent one that focuses on promoting the recovery of stroke victims. Steve has made a mark and name for himself as a supporter of cancer patients and stroke victims.
Mackey’s journey serves as a reminder that even in the face of adversity, a positive outlook and the will to achieve can result in excellent results.

Steve Mackey Pulp Bassist Death Cause And Obituary
Steve Mackey, the guitarist for Pulp, died at age 56. His family confirmed his death.
The Sheffield guitarist participated in hits like Common People, Disco 2000, and Lipgloss after joining Pulp in 1989.
On Thursday, his wife Katie informed her fans on social media that he had spent the previous three months in the hospital with an undisclosed illness.
She added that they were shocked and devastated to lose my handsome, brilliant husband.
The most talented individual she had ever met was Steve. He excelled as a photographer, director, writer, and performer.
As in life, she mentioned that Steve was mostly adored by everyone whose paths he crossed in the multiple creative disciplines he conquered.
She also expressed her heartfelt grattitude to all the NHS staff who worked effortlessly tirelessly for Steve. Steve will be missed beyond words.
