Bristol rugby player Ellis Joseph, known for his achievements with Old Redcliffians and Somerset, is survived by his parents.
He hailed from Oxfordshire and was a real stalwart when it came to playing rugby at the Old Redcliffians and he initially started at the club as a junior.

Joseph had been a committed player to the Old Reds, through and thin, always carrying himself well both on and off the pitch with good sportsmanship.

Ellis is passionate about raising awareness of the stem cell register now because we had no idea it was possible to donate your stem cells, so there must be millions of others like us, who don’t realise.

Because Ellis’s grandparents are from Antigua, he’s mixed heritage. His consultant explained that finding a match could be more difficult because of this.
The player’s case highlighted the urgent need for more people from Black and mixed-heritage backgrounds to join the stem cell donor register.
Additionally, his sister, Tameka Joseph, posted an emotional tribute on social media to express her sadness.
