He even had a viral moment during a live interview with the fan known as “Plant Guy” on the night of the big win.

Mark Carcasole said his official goodbye during Sunday’s 6 PM Global News. He announced that he’s leaving the network after 12 years of reporting and anchoring the weekend show.

However, this farewell isn’t his last time on the network. He’ll also be on the 11 PM show, where he plans to give another final goodbye.

Fans are not delighted, saying they can’t believe he’s leaving because he’s the reason they watch Global.

While they’re happy for his new adventure, they’ll miss their favorite weekend anchor and hope to find out where he’s going next.

Others express their shock, saying it feels like Global is letting go of many talented team members.

At the same time, viewers are furious and point out that Chorus and Global are struggling, but letting go of longtime journalists and anchors like Alan Carter and now Mark Carcasole will only make things worse for the network.

Well, viewers noticed the wink and speculated that he might be heading to another TV station.

In response, some suggested that he join CITY with Alan.

The estimated average salary for a journalist at Global News is about $69,559 per year.
