The ongoing Israel and Hamas war has killed many innocent souls and has affected many people’s lives. Hind was also one of them who had to flee from one place to another with her parents and relatives to find a safe place due to the war.
On 29 January 2024, the Israeli army told people to evacuate the western areas and move to the south. Hind and her family members were fleeing from place to place to avoid strikes and to be safe.
Hind’s mother said it was rainy and cold, so Hind’s mother and older siblings decided to go to Ahli Hospital on foot, and Hind was given a place in her uncle’s car.
Soon, the car left, and the family heard a terrifying shooting sound. All the family have received is Hind Rijab’s call from the incident, and after several hours, they lose contact with her.

Who Is Hind Rajab?
The ongoing Israel-Hamas war has taken the lives of many people, especially children and women. People have lost their homes and lost their loved ones.
Hind Rajab was also one of them who had to leave her home and her city and had to be displaced from one place to another to protect her life from the ongoing war.
Everything changed for her after the war. She had to move from one place to another place. Hind Rajab was a sweet girl living happily with her family, but after October 2023, everything changed for her and other children like her.
After Israeli soldiers told Palestinian people to evacuate and move south, Hind and her family decided to go to Ahli Hospital, hoping it would be a good place for shelter.
It was cold. So, Hind was given a place in her relative’s car, a black Kia Piccanto. There she was with her uncle, aunt, and five cousins.
After the car left, the family heard a shooting sound. Hind’s uncle was driving on the way to al-Azhar University, and the car is thought to have unexpectedly come face to face with Israeli tanks.
Furthermore, the family pulled into the nearby Fares petrol station safely but appeared to come under fire later. The family called the relative for help.
One of them contacted the emergency headquarters of the Palestine Red Crescent in the Occupied West Bank, which is 50 miles away from that area.
Later, the Red Crescent call centre’s operators called Hind’s uncle’s mobile phone. His daughter, 15-year-old Layan, received it.
On the call, she said her family and siblings had been killed and said there was a tank next to the car, and they were firing at them. Later, the conversation ends with the sound of gunfire and screaming.
Again, the operator called, and Hind Rajab received that. Her voice was almost inaudible, and she was in fear. The operator was on the line with Hind for hours.
She said her relatives had been killed but later described them as sleeping. The operators told her, “Let them sleep; we don’t want to bother them.”
The operator told her to hide under the seats and said, Don’t let anyone see you. Furthermore, Hid was continuously asking to come and get her. Later, she also talked with her mother, and she was terrified and constantly asking for help.
Three hours after the call began, an ambulance was finally sent to that location. The ambulance members, Yousef and Ahmad, contacted the operators when nearing the location to rescue Hind.
Later, they said that they were about to be checked for entry by Israeli forces. Sadly, they were out of reach after some time, and that was the last call from the paramedics and Hind.
For so many days, Hind Rajab’s parents are out of reach from their daughter. There has been no information about the paramedics, Yousef and Ahmad.
Hind Rajab: Parents And Family Details
Hind Rajab was a loving daughter of her mother, Wissam. When Hind received the call from the war scene, she pleaded with her mother not to hang up.
Furthermore, Wissam asked her where she was injured and distracted Hind by reading the Quran with her and praying together.
According to Hind’s grandfather, Bahaa Hamada, the last thing Hind’s mother, Wissam, heard on the call with her daughter was the sound of the car door opening and Hind telling her she could see the ambulance at a distance.
Later, the call was disconnected. Wissam is waiting for her daughter, and she wants Hind Rahab to be safe and soon return to her.
