Following an urgent meeting, she submitted her resignation as her social media post was deemed to contravene her duty of neutrality.

Paris 2024 organizers expressed a commitment to a joyous and safe Olympics for all but acknowledged concerns about potential political entanglements amid ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.

The case was brought to the ethics committee, which stated that Gomis’ post constituted “a serious breach of ethical obligations.” 

Finally, Paris organizers however said that Gomis was no longer in a position to continue her mission because her social media post “contravened her duty of neutrality.”
