Constantino Chiwenga is a Zimbabwean politician and a former vice president.
Born in August 1956, Chiwenga is a former army general. He began his military career in 1973 and was associated with the Zimbabwe Defence Force upto 2017.
Furthermore, Chiwenge served as the commander of the Zimbabwe National Army from 1991 to 2003. He was a commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces for over a decade, from 2003 to 2017.

Constantino Chiwenga was appointed along with Kembo Mohadi as the Vice President of Zimbabwe by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in December 2017.
Chiwenga was appointed the country’s first Vice President on 28 December 2017. He became Minister of Health and Child Care in 2020, succeeding Obadiah Moyo, who was dismissed from his position a month earlier for committing corruption.
Furthermore, Chiwenga presided at the burial service for the “three heroes of the liberation struggle,” Dr. Sibusisi Moyo, Joel Biggie Matiza and Paradzal Zimondi. All of them have died from COVID-19.
