Talking about her sports career, Murphy was a member of The Jillaroos team. She served as the team captain for about 13 years. She played in four Women’s World Cups and later took retirement in 2013.

Karyn Murphy joined the Queensland Police Service in 1989. She was the Detective Inspector and oversaw high-profile cases, including NRL players and officials.

During her participation in the force, Murphy worked on cases like the Matt Lodge assault case, the Curtis Scott arrest case and many more.
