The incident happened on 10 July 2021 in Honfleur. Thomas was driving the car at a high speed.
Four teenagers, all aged from 14 to 16, were in the car. The car was at a high speed. One of his friends in the vehicle said that he saw the odometer reach 180km/hr when the car began climbing up the hill.
Later, Martineau lost control when he saw another car coming from the opposite direction. The swerve ends 40m further, causing an impact with a ditch.
The car was completely damaged and demolished. His four friends, two boys and two girls, faced severe injuries.
One of the Young men in the vehicle suffered head trauma and fractures that prevented him from participating in Physical activities.
Furthermore, a young girl suffered a head trauma and brain hemorrhage and spent 18 months in a coma. The two other friends also suffered severe injuries.
Recently, the young man, 20, Thomas Martineau, pleaded guilty to four counts of dangerous driving, causing severe harm and injuries to passengers.
His sentencing was announced at the Montmadny courthouse. Thomas showed no emotion when he was taken into custody.

Thomas Martineau has no criminal record before. After serving 18 months in Prison, he must complete 240 hours of community service.

Now, his friends recalled the accident, claiming it “haunted.” They were not silent when Thomas began speeding in July 2021. The path they were traveling was considered one of the most dangerous roads by the residents.
They even have nicknamed that location the ‘”coast of death.” When Thomas began speeding that day, one of the passengers begged him to stop.
Later, one teenage girl mentioned that she was scared. But besides that, Thomas replied, saying, “You haven’t seen anything yet, you’re gong to be even more afraid when you go back up.”
But besides the warnings, Thomas kept speeding and later, causing a fatal incident.
After sustaining deadly injuries, his friends still find difficulty in concentrating. They did not have as everyday lives as they used to have before the incident.
