Tenoch Huerta Scandal has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry as these severe allegations have raised significant concerns and sparked a debate.

Mexican actor José Tenoch Huerta Meja. Tenoch Huerta has appeared in various Latin American and Spain films, including feature films, short films, and Narcos: Mexico. Mónica Maristain’s book, 30 Actors Made in Mexico, features him.

Huerta made his acting debut in the film Asi del Precipicio as a small part (2006). In 2009, in Cary Joji Fukunaga’s film Sin Nombre, he played Li’l Mago, the head of the Tapachula section of the violent Mara Salvatrucha gang.

Huerta was confirmed to have joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever during a San Diego Comic-Con presentation in 2022. In Mexico, most comments were positive, with a minority of adverse reactions classified as racist and machismo. 

Huerta spoke out against prejudice in the film business and expressed excitement about playing the part.

The entertainment industry has been rocked again by sexual assault charges, this time against acclaimed actor Tenoch Huerta, best known for his performance in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” by artist Maria Elena Rios.

Rios rushed to social media to describe her ordeal, branding Huerta, a “sexual predator.” These severe charges have prompted significant concerns and sparked a conversation about how women are treated in the profession.

Maria’s post was in response to Poder Prieto’s denial of her accusations that she was not paid for a podcast, including her that the organization purportedly aired on their website.

She said that the podcast was still available on the group’s website after she left Poder Prieto. 

Nevertheless, the organization denied her accusations, claiming they were not engaged in the podcast’s creation and did not compensate her. Following this, Maria accused the gang of shielding their member Tenoch.

In a tweet, María Elena Rios, a musician, publicly accused Tenoch Huerta of sexual assault. Rios referred to Huerta as a “sexual predator,” recounting her painful ordeal at his hands.

Rios posted screenshots of nasty tweets she received, highlighting the poisonous climate that frequently surrounds survivors who come forward. 

The public reaction has been split, with some backing Rios and appreciating her courage to speak up, while others are waiting for further information before passing judgment.

Tenoch Huerta and Disney, the distributor of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” have yet to reply to the accusation.

She alleged that Poder Prieto, Huerta’s group, broadcasted a podcast featuring her without her permission, emphasizing the need for ethical standards and respect for artists’ rights.

María Elena Rios cited Mexico’s patriarchal culture and a lack of justice for sexual assault survivors in explaining her reluctance to speak out.

She also separated herself from the group Poder Prieto, for whom Huerta is a spokeswoman, accusing them of unauthorizedly spreading her podcast episode and neglecting to reimburse her. 

Rios also chastised Poder Prieto for pretending to be anti-racist while supporting Huerta. Her charges brought to light the issue of consent and exploitation in the entertainment business.
