Talking about Susan’s professional life, Susan ran Stairfoot Post Office in Barnsley from 1995 to 2004 with her husband, Michael Rudkin.
Later, the pair bought the Ibstock Post Office in Leicestershire in 2000.
Micheal served as the sub-postmaster there, and Susan worked in the branch. Susan was also a manager of the Stairfoot Post Office branch from 2000 to 2004.
Michael also served as the most senior member of the National Executive of the National Federation of SubPostmasters.
Furthermore, he served as the Federation negotiating committee chairman, responsible for negotiations with Post Office Ltd and Royal Mail Group.
But everything changed in August 2008, when the auditor arrived at their post in Ibstock and announced a shortfall of £44,000 in their accounts, and they had to pay that amount.
Furthermore, Susan was accused of stealing and was sentenced to 300 hours of community service and was forced to wear an electronic tag for six months.
The pair lose their jobs, and Susan’s husband, Michael, has to give up his position as chairman of the negotiating committee of the National Federation of Sub-postmasters.
