Mohamed Fofana Parents are grieving the loss of their beloved son as he went missing on Mother’s Day and was found dead.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the corpse of a 4-year-old autistic kid who went missing over the weekend in South Boston was discovered Monday.
Mohamed Fofana was discovered dead on the beach of Castle Island shortly before 12:30 pm, according to a tweet from State Police. Castle Island is located on the northernmost point of a line of Boston beaches that overlooks Boston Harbor.

According to State Police, the boy’s body was discovered on the coast of Spectacle Island, immediately across the sea from Castle Island. The body will be taken to the office of the chief medical examiner.

Fofana was playing with his elder sister and grandfather near the ocean at a park on Castle Island at about 7 pm Sunday when he vanished. Soleymane Fofana, his grandfather, dialed 911.
“‘It’s Mother’s Day, and I’m a little exhausted,’ remarked (Fofana’s mother). I’m not interested in going to the park or the beach.’
‘I’ll come with you,’ Grandfather responded, I think. As a result, he feels terrible, which breaks his heart, “Boston city councilor prominent Erin Murphy remarked. Spectacle Island is located right across from Castle Island.

The Suffolk County State Police detective unit is handling the death inquiry. On Sunday night, authorities launched the hunt for Mohamed on Twitter. “At this moment, no plausible motives” for his disappearance “have been ruled out,” State Police said.
Marine units and dive teams from numerous law enforcement and public safety organizations searched the Western Way, which links Dorchester Bay to the south and the Boston Main Channel to the north, on Monday, according to State Police.
Three boats were outfitted with side-scan sonar, which provided a sonar image of the ocean floor. Divers were probing any abnormalities discovered, according to State Police.
According to State Police, they also conducted an underwater search along the length of the Castle Island sea wall out to 150 yards offshore.
The State Police Air Wing and the Coast Guard conducted aircraft searches along the shoreline, which was also searched by a Boston Fire Department drone, according to State Police.
According to State Police, detectives studied footage to determine Mohamed’s likely route from the playground area.
