Geert Wilders parents are his father, Johannes Henricus Andreas and his mother, Anne Marie Wilders.

Geert’s father, Johannes, was originally from the Netherlands. He was a manager of the printing and copying manufacturing company, Oce.

According to The Guardian, Geert’s father, Johannes, went into hiding during the wartime of Nazi occupation. 

Johannes Henricus Andreas went through a terrible experience and refused to enter Germany even after forty years.

Geert was born in a middle-class family in Venlo and was the youngest of Johannes’s four children. He was born into a Catholic family.

Geert Wilders mother, Anne Marie Wilders was born in colonial Indonesia. So, Geert belongs to mixed ethnic groups.

According to Politico, Geert’s mother arrived in the Netherlands when she was a baby. Her family fled the collapsing Dutch colony.

Furthermore, Geert’s mother is a half-Indonesian, and as per the source, Geert has distanced himself from the family from his mother’s.

Geert’s mother, Anne Marie Wilders, was a soldier’s daughter. And it seems Anne’s family suffered a lot at the time of the Dutch colony in now Indonesia.

As Geert belonged to mixed ethnic groups from both of his parent’s sides, he was influenced by the cultures of both of his parents.

As mentioned earlier, Geert Wilders is the youngest among four siblings. He has two older sisters and one older brother.

Geert’s brother, Paul Wilders, is nine years older than Geert. Paul did not support his brother politically and criticized him for his far-right rhetoric.

Paul has also said that Greets discriminates against migrants, and the siblings do not seem to have a good relationship now.

In such cases of migrants in the Netherlands, Greet does not seem to have a good relationship with his brother. Paul does not like Greet’s anti-Islam behavior.

Furthermore, Paul has talked about his brother in an interview. It has been thought that Geert’s aversion to Islam had been cultivated before the university when he visited the Middle East in the early 1980s.

Overall, Geert Wilders is one of the tough Dutch politicians. He has been through a lot of hard times for his anti-Islamic behaviors. But right now, he is in a positive phase of his career as he recently won the Dutch election.
