The tragic demise of Firouz on June 9, 2023, couldn’t have saddened people more. The man spent the better half of his life contributing to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in technical and executive positions.
Naderi’s dedication to the organization continued for over three decades; his works are exemplary and influential. After departing from NASA, he served as a coach, consultant, strategist for early-stage startups, and public speaker.
Unfortunately, the scientist sustained a fall after a cardiac episode and ended up banging his head against a wall. It caused one vertebra in his neck to protrude into the nerve canal.
The end result was Firouz was wholly paralyzed below his neck. Following the accident, he immediately underwent surgery to treat his neck injury and spinal cord damage.
Another surgery was scheduled to treat the resulting paralysis. Likewise, his partial recovery was expected to occur within four to five months. Sadly, before that could happen, Firouz Naderi breathed his last.
