El Paso Walmart Shooting Victims: On February 15, 2023, a shooting inside the Cielo Vista Mall Walmart in El Paso resulted in at least one death.
In addition to the hundreds of people already slain this year in mass shootings around the United States, authorities in El Paso, Texas, reported that one person was killed and three got injured on Wednesday following a shooting in a shopping mall.
Deputy El Paso Police Chief Peter Pasillas stated during a late Wednesday night press conference that the gunshot got reported at the Cielo Vista Mall around 5:05 pm local time.
Cielo Vista Mall will stay closed until investigators have finished their investigation, according to interim Police head Peter Pacillas, who stated that it is still a crime scene. Pacillas emphasized that the threat was over.

El Paso Walmart Shooting
Once the shooting was reported, Three minutes after the incident, off-duty Police who were operating the mall’s security system reacted, and one of them arrested a suspect, according to Pacillas.
The off-duty Police who detained the guy without using force were arrested, according to Pacillas, at 5:08 pm. “We had off-duty officers working at the local Company within the mall,” he said.
The killing occurred one week after the 24-year-old gunman in the neighboring Walmart mass shooting in 2019.
In 2019, 23 people were killed by a guy who targeted Hispanic people on purpose and pleaded guilty to national hate crime and firearms charges.
The Cielo Vista Mall and Walmart are on opposite sides of the roadway.
El Paso Shooting: 2 Male Suspects Arrested
Even though the circumstances surrounding the incident were still unknown, the El Paso Police Department reported that two suspects had been brought into custody hours after the shots were fired.
The suspect was taken into custody by an off-duty Police officer without needing a weapon, but the Police chief did not disclose the capture of the second suspect.
Neither the names, ages, or descriptions of the victims nor the suspects were also immediately made public.
Jeffrey Downey praised the off-duty Police officer who picked up the first suspect, the agent in charge of the FBI El Paso Office.
We can only speculate how many more people would have died and could have been injured if the off-duty Police officer had not been around. So, he deserves the praise.
