David Attenborough Siblings: Brother Richard & John
David Attenborough siblings are Richard Attenborough, John Attenborough, Helga Bejach, and Irene Bejach.
David’s older brother, Richard Attenborough was an actor, film director, and producer. He is best known for starring in many films like Brighton Rock, I’m All Right, Doctor Dolittle, and Miracle on 34th Street.
As a film director, Richard worked in many films, including Oh! What a Lovely War, Young Winston, A Bridge Too Far, Magic, and A Chorus Line.
Richard served as the president of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA)and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). He was married to an actress, Sheila Sim.
Sadly, the actor passed away at the age of 90 on 24 August 2014 in Northwood, London.
On the other hand, David had a younger brother named John Attenborough. He was an English executive in the motor industry and a financial adviser.
Furthermore, John worked in the motor trade and was later appointed as a managing director of Mann Egerton. It was an automotive and aerospace company.
John Attenborough was the head of the British operations of Alfa Romeo, an Italian car manufacturer. John ran a distribution business for motor cars in Dorset, South England.
After retirement, he began working as a financial advisor. Sadly he passed away at the age of 84 on 9 November 2012.
David Attenborough Siblings: Sister Helga & Irene Bejach
David Attenborough and his brothers were blessed with two sisters, Helga Bejach and Irene Bejach.
Helga and Irene were not David and his brothers’ biological siblings. Helga and Irene were among 10,000 Jewish and half-Jewish children who fled to Britain in August 1939 during the Second World War.
They fled to Britain as a part of a mass humanitarian rescue effort. Later, David Attenborough’s parents decided to take the girls to their home. They lived with David and his brothers for about seven years.
David and his brothers were very close with Irene and Helga. They used to play together and were like real siblings.
After the war, Helga and Irene moved to America to join their relatives. They got married there. Helga and Irene used to contact David and his family. Helga was a talented ballet dancer.
Sadly, Helga passed away in 2005 and Irene passed in 1994.
Overall, David Attenborough is an incredible artist. As a naturalist, he has researched and provided much information about nature and its wonders.
