The love story of Brandi and Jason Maxiell began when they crossed paths at Newman Smith High School. The couple became one in August 2010 in a magnificent wedding ceremony that marked the start of their forever.
On November 11, 2011, Brandi and her husband, Jason Maxiell, were blessed with a son. They named him after his Father, Jason Maxiell II.
As of this writing in 2024, he is a young athlete at the age of 13. He is currently studying fifth grade at a local school in Texas.
Following his dad’s footsteps, he started playing basketball at his school but found himself more divulged into football and baseball.

According to his recent posts on Instagram, he plays for a team called United Basketball which recently won a youth tournament at Mavericks, UT Arlington, on December 2022.
Additionally, he plays as a defensive back for the 5th grade Dragon Black Football Team and a hitter for the baseball team of the same name.

Brandi Maxiell’s husband, Jason Maxiell, had an impressive career as a professional basketball player. He spent eight successful seasons playing for the Detroit Pistons from 2005 to 2013.
Jason Maxiell’s remarkable basketball journey took him from the University of Cincinnati to the world-renowned NBA, across to China and Turkey.
He played at the University of Cincinnati under Coach Bob Huggins from 2001-2005 after graduating from Newman Smith High School in 2001.
Maxiell’s college career at the University of Cincinnati was notable. He finished 13th in the school’s career scoring list with 1,566 points. This also placed him 13th in Conference USA history.
In the 2005 NBA draft, the Detroit Pistons chose Maxiell with the 26th overall pick. The Detroit Pistons showed their commitment to Jason Dior Maxiell when they signed him to a four-year contract extension worth $20 million on October 31, 2008.
On August 10, 2015, Jason Dior Maxiell signed a contract with Tianjin Ronggang of the Chinese Basketball Association, marking a new chapter in his basketball career.
Although Jason Dior Maxiell was signed by Tropang TNT of the Philippine Basketball Association for the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup, he was declared ineligible due to height restrictions.
In January 2017, he signed with the second-tier Turkish team Acıbadem Üniversitesi.
He returned to the team where it all started on August 4, 2017, when he signed a contract with the Detroit Pistons, allowing him to retire as a proud franchise member.
