April Bancroft is the sister of 20 years old Jacob Lewis, who was passionate about music.
Jacob had been accepted into the musical theatre program at Sam Houston University and was excited to pursue his dream of becoming a well-rounded performer.
Before this, Jacob had completed his core classes at Lone Star College and spent a gap year working at Chick-fil-A.
His love for singing and acting was fostered by many who recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion.
In addition to his love for musicals, Jacob had a keen interest in hobbies such as tap dancing and playing video games like Zelda and Mario and Dungeons and Dragons.
Tragically, he was killed by a suspected drunk driver on the night of April 21 after leaving the Taylor Swift concert in Houston, Texas, with his sister April Bancroft.

Who Is April Bancroft?
April Bancroft is the older sister of Jacob Lewis, who had a deep love for music.
She lost her younger brother at just the age of 20.
As per GoFundMe Page, Lewis and his sister, April Bancroft, were returning from attending Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ concert at NRG Stadium when their vehicle broke down on the northbound lane of US-59 and Shepherd Drive.
While Bancroft escaped physical harm, she was traumatized by the sight of the suspected DWI driver hitting her brother. She expressed feeling emotionally devastated by the tragic loss.”
Tragically, she witnessed her brother’s violent death caused by a suspected drunk driver.
Bancroft immediately called 911, but it was too late, and Jacob died at the scene. The driver, identified as Hayes and known for his record of drunk driving, fled the scene in his black Volkswagen Beetle.
Similarly, a tow truck driver who witnessed the crash followed Hayes to the 4500 block of Caroline Street, where he abandoned the car and escaped on foot.
Houston Police later apprehended Hayes and took him to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

After attending Taylor Swift’s concert, April Bancroft’s younger brother, Jacob Lewis, was tragically hit and killed.
She described the experience as traumatic and said she was devastated by losing her beloved brother.
April recalled one of her last memories of her younger brother Jacob Lewis was when she called 911 after a suspected drunk driver hit him.
However, Bancroft said the memory would not stay with her from that fateful Friday night. Just a few hours before the tragic accident, Bancroft and Lewis were preparing to attend the Taylor Swift concert together.
April expressed that having that experience as their last memory together was something she would cherish forever.
Steve Lewis Shares Heartbreaking News of Jacob Lewis’ Death on Facebook
Steve Lewis, Jacob’s Father, shared the heartbreaking news on his Facebook page.
He mentioned that Jacob’s sister, Bancroft survived the incident with minor injuries.
Steve also shared some pictures of Jacob and revealed his passions, which included theater, dance, music, and video games.
He added Jacob was a loving and faithful young man devoted to his family and friends, and he concluded his message by stating that Jacob’s last act was to push his sister to safety on the dark street.
His family and friends’ loss and emptiness cannot be described in words.
