Tillu Tajpuriya, a resident of Tajpur village near Alipur in Delhi, India, was taken into custody by the Delhi Police for his involvement in several criminal activities, including murder, extortion, and land grabbing in 2016.
He had been incarcerated since then, facing multiple charges under different sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Tajpuriya was a well-known criminal in the vicinity of Delhi. His capture was considered a significant accomplishment by the Delhi Police, who pursued him for a considerable time.

Tillu Tajpuriya Religion – Was He Muslim?
Tillu Tajpuriya’s religion is unknown as there is currently no information about his religious beliefs or associations.

In December 2021, Tillu was linked to the planning of the Rohini shootout, during which two gunmen allegedly killed Jitendra Mann, the Leader of the Gogi gang, inside the Rohini court complex.
According to reports, Tajpuriya coordinated the attack from his jail cell, and he and his associates were later charged in connection with the incident.
The Police reported that Tajpuriya and Mann were once friends. Still, they became rivals during a student union election at Delhi’s Swami Shraddhanand College, where they supported opposing candidates and got into a physical altercation.
Over the next decade, the two men & their respective gangs engaged in violent clashes to establish dominance in their area.
Tillu was arrested in 2016 on charges of murder, extortion, robbery, and violating the Arms Act, among others.
The Delhi Police’s Special Cell booked him under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.
The Police revealed that Tajpuriya managed to operate his gang from within the jail and was responsible for several other killings.
He was survived by his parents and three siblings. Further, his Father recently retired from the Delhi Municipal Corporation.
The Death of Tillu Tajpuriya: What Happened?
On TuesdayMay 2, 2023, Tillu Tajpuriya, a gangster imprisoned in Tihar jail, was attacked over 45 times, leading to his death.
According to sources, the preliminary autopsy report revealed that he had injuries on his head, chest, and back, with the rest of the wounds found on his body.
Following the attack, Tajpuriya was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Delhi, where he was declared dead.
Not to mention, he had been accused in more than 14 cases of serious crimes such as murder, robbery, dacoity, extortion, attacking public servants, and Arms Act violations, according to ThePrint’s investigation.
Sources from the Police revealed that Tajpuriya had only completed up to class 10 in school and had participated in wrestling tournaments during his schooling.
He had been in prison since 2016 but was allegedly still involved in criminal activities from behind bars.
Tajpuriya was a key suspect in a shootout at Delhi’s Rohini court complex in September 2021, which resulted in Gogi’s death.
The Police had offered a reward of Rs 4 lakh for Gogi’s capture. Two men, identified as Rahul and Jagdeep, dressed up as lawyers, allegedly shot Gogi dead during the incident.
According to the Police, the murder had been planned from inside Tihar.
