The Selena Foundation was established by Selena’s Father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., to aid children in need, and Suzette Quintanilla became the foundation’s spokesperson.
Chris Pérez, Selena’s widower, wrote “To Selena, With Love,” a book about their relationship. Selena’s Father and a few other family members didn’t agree with the book, though.
A movie depicting Selena’s life was released in 1997, with Jennifer Lopez as Selena. A larger audience was introduced to Selena’s songs thanks partly to the critically acclaimed and financially successful movie.
Selena received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2002 as a posthumous tribute, and in 2021, she was admitted to the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
