Scotty Cranmer, a former American BMX rider, shares the record for the most X Games BMX Park medals with Dave Mirra, having earned nine medals (three gold, three silver, and three bronze) over fourteen appearances.

On October 12, 2016, Scotty Cranmer suffered a severe spinal cord injury during a session. He updated his YouTube Viewers about his health on November 15 of the same year with the video title ‘MY WORST CRASH EVER!

While performing a bike trick, he fell into a pit in the ground and suffered injuries to his head, teeth, and multiple vertebrae, despite wearing a helmet for protection.

After sustaining a severe injury, he was quickly taken to a hospital in Las Vegas, and his Father and wife rushed to be by his side.

A couple of days after Scotty Cranmer Accident, he got a brain hemorrhage, and the doctors immediately performed surgery on his head. 

The frontal portion of his skull was taken to California for medical/research purposes and put back into his head with another surgery procedure a month later.

Despite the seriousness of Scotty Cranmer Accident, he maintained a positive outlook. He expressed gratitude for the presence of his closest industry friends, such as Conner Fields, Jamie Bestwick, and his team managers, who visited him at the hospital.

Scotty Cranmer Health Update: Where Is He Now?

He experienced some improvement in his condition and has been chiefly physically functional since then; however, as of 2023, he still has partial paralysis.

Although he can perform basic maneuvers on a BMX bike and continues to ride for recreational and fitness purposes, he has discontinued participating in BMX competitions.

Despite his physical limitations, Cranmer has managed to sustain his involvement in the BMX world through various endeavors.

He has maintained his involvement by running SC Action Sports, frequently uploading videos to his YouTube channel, offering guidance to up-and-coming riders, and serving as a commentator in major BMX events such as the X Games.

Talking about his present whereabouts, just three days ago, he recorded a video titled ‘Absolutely INSANE BMX Long Jump Contest,’ which was organized in Naples, Florida, United States.

Scotty Cranmer Family and personal life

American BMX Prodigy Scotty Cranmer was born on January 11, 1987, in Jackson Township, New Jersey as the eldest son of Donna and Scott.

Scotty has a younger brother, Matty Cranmer, a professional BMX Rider, and Performer. Matty is a regular guest on his YouTube Channel. 

Born to a family who owned an inline skate club in Lakewood, the siblings were introduced to biking & skating stunt shows at a young age.

Scotty Cranmer was inspired by Mat Hoffman, who became a professional BMX rider at the age of 15. Cranmer himself turned pro at 18 after attending Jackson Memorial High School.

He is married to Lisa, who has been a constant source of support for him through thick and thin. They live with Cranmer’s parents and their pet dog.
