Kennedy learned of his Father’s death while attending Georgetown Preparatory School, a Jesuit boarding school in North Bethesda, Maryland.

He traveled to Los Angeles aboard Vice President Hubert Humphrey’s jet a few hours later with his elder sister Kathleen and brother Joseph and was with his Father when he died. 

Kennedy served as a pallbearer during his Father’s burial, speaking and reading parts from his Father’s speeches at the Mass, remembering his Father’s death.

He completed his study at Harvard University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in American History and Literature in 1976. 

Afterward, he attended the London School of Economics before graduating with a law degree from the University of Virginia and a Master of Laws from Pace University.
