Two grieving families seek justice after a motorist involved in an unlawful street takeover in Compton hit a man and his fiancée, killing the man and gravely wounding the lady.

The family is now seeking justice. They claim the 21-year-old motorist who hit the couple had been detained multiple times but freed each time. The driver now faces vehicular manslaughter charges, but the couple’s family believes this is insufficient.
Raymond Olivares Death: Accident Video Explored
The event occurred in February and was caught on camera surveillance. As they crossed Avalon Boulevard, the suspect struck Maria Rivas-Cruz and Raymond Olivares with his automobile.
According to authorities, Raymond Olivares, 27, was walking with his high school love Maria Rivas Cruz, 27, when they were run down by a guy fleeing a nearby street takeover in late December. Rivas Cruz is still recovering from the accident.
Olivares was driving a 1996 GMC Jimmy when he strayed into the southbound lane and struck head-on with a Toyota Tacoma. Olivares died due to numerous blunt force wounds, deemed an accident.

Neighbors claim these activities result from a disrespectful and unsafe vehicle culture that attacks Compton streets, leaving behind damage and victims. Neighbors of Olivares said they’ve contacted Police more times than they can count.
Rivas-GoFundMe Cruz’s page stated that 2023 was intended to be an exciting year for her and Olivares.
The pair, who had been dating since they were 14, planned to marry in December. They had previously bought a House together.

“It’s not fair because this person didn’t just transform two lives; he changed two families,” Rivas-Cruz added.

Olivares’ family has now made halting the sideshows and speeding up their goal, going door to door, passing out pamphlets and urging neighbors to notify the city that they want it stopped before another family has to mourn their baby boy.
According to the family, there have been many other street takeovers in the neighborhood, many of which are routinely recorded online. According to Enamorado, others distributed video footage of her brother’s body.
“We’re simply trying to stop this mob because they didn’t care and had the nerve to video them as they were lying out on the street and publish it online,” she explained.
The family is now seeking justice. They claim the 21-year-old motorist who hit the couple had been detained multiple times but freed each time.

They’ve asked Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón to file more severe charges.
“This child is a risk to society,” Enamorado added. “He should sit there for a long time and think about what he’s done and change his life.”
Raymond Olivares Sister Grieves His Death
Cindi Enamorado’s brother was killed by an out-of-control motorist months ago, and the fact that he is no longer at her side still sends her to tears.
“You were not meant to leave me,” Enamorado whispered, her eyes welling up with sorrow. “You’re not meant to leave me; we’re supposed to stay together forever.”
“I still can’t believe it because I miss him so much,” Rivas Cruz added.
A 21-year-old suspect has been charged with vehicular manslaughter. During the trial, Cordova and the suspect’s family appeared in court.
“I had to sit in front of the mother who let her child get detained 13 times and would bail him out several times,” Enamorado explained. “I bailed him out six weeks before [my brother’s] death, tolerating his behavior and enabling him to do this.”
Enamorado claims that a social media account shared a video of her brother’s corpse on the street for days after the disaster, recorded by other people leaving the sideshow.
