Recently, rumors have been circulating regarding the death of Pope Francis.

However, no reliable sources have confirmed these rumors, which are likely fake. The speculation arose after the Pope was admitted to the hospital this week for respiratory infections.

Despite his hospitalization, the 86-year-old appeared to be in good health when he attended his weekly general audience at the Vatican.

In a statement released by the Vatican, it was revealed that Pope Francis is touched by the many messages he has received and has expressed his gratitude for the closeness and prayer shown towards him.

Fortunately, the Pope’s illness does not appear to be severe, as none of his upcoming events have been canceled yet.

A Palm Sunday Mass is scheduled for this weekend, with Holy Week and Easter celebrations planned for next week. Pope Francis is also set to visit Hungary at the end of April.

In light of the rumors regarding his death, it is essential to note that Pope Francis remains alive and receives medical care for his condition. The Vatican and the global Catholic community continue to offer prayers for his swift recovery.

Pope Francis Respiratory Infection And Health Update

As per several reliable sources, Pope Francis was admitted to the hospital due to a respiratory infection.

He will remain under medical care for a few days to receive treatment. Fortunately, tests have ruled out any heart problems or pneumonia.

It has been reported that he had been experiencing breathing difficulties recently, not caused by Covid-19. Initially, the Vatican stated that Pope Francis had gone to the hospital for a scheduled checkup.

However, they later released a statement clarifying that he had a respiratory infection and would need to spend a few days in the hospital.

Currently, the Pope does not have any severe illness, although, in recent months, he has been using a wheelchair due to mobility problems related to his knee, according to the BBC.

It is worth noting that Pope Francis has had lung issues since a very early age. In his early 20s, when training to be a priest in Argentina, he had part of one lung removed due to pneumonia.
