General Pervez Musharraf (Retd), the former Leader of Pakistan, recently passed away at a hospital in Dubai after a protracted illness.
General Pervez Musharraf was chosen as the nation’s tenth president in 1999, following the Pakistani military’s successful takeover of the federal government.
In addition, he served as the 10th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee from 1998 to 2001. He also served as the 7th Chief of Army Staff from 1998 to 2007.
Musharraf was born into an Urdu-speaking household on August 11, 1943, in Delhi, British India. He is the son of Syed Musharrafuddin Musharraf and Begum Zarin (c. 1920–2021).
Because of his relationship with Muhammad, his family insisted they were Muslims. Syed Musharraf joined the government service after earning his degree from Aligarh Muslim University, a famous institution during the British administration.
Pervez Musharraf Illness Before Death
According to reports, the former military commander was undergoing treatment in a hospital in the United Arab Emirates but had a poor prognosis for survival.
Musharraf led Pakistan from 1999 to 2008; in 2019, he was convicted of high treason and sentenced to death for suspending the Constitution. Later, his death sentence was overturned.
He was admitted to the hospital due to an illness complication called Amyloidosis, which happens when an aberrant protein builds up in organs and impairs normal function.
He was given a terminal sickness diagnosis in the UAE in 2018. Musharraf visited Dubai in March 2016 to receive medical attention.
He was wanted as he was in connection with the murder of a cleric at the Red Mosque and the shooting of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf Died From Amyloidosis
According to his family, retired former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf was hospitalized for three weeks after his health deteriorated.
In a message posted to Mr. Musharraf’s official Twitter account, his family disclosed that he has Amyloidosis and expressed their wish for comfort in his daily activities.
The post stated that although he was not on a ventilator, a complication from his illness had caused him to be hospitalized for the past three weeks (Amyloidosis). His condition was in a challenging stage where recovery was impossible and his organs were failing.
The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) defines “amyloidosis” as a group of rare, severe diseases that is usually caused by the buildup of an abnormal protein called amyloid in various human organs and tissues.
Amyloid deposits may form in the heart, brain, kidneys, spleen, and other organs.
The buildup of these protein deposits may make it difficult for the tissues and organs to operate correctly. According to the NHS, untreated may lead to organ failure.
Mr. Musharraf was given a severe illness diagnosis in the UAE in 2018.
Similarly, Amyloidosis can manifest independently or as a complication of another illness. The article continued by stating that sometimes Amyloidosis has an unknown cause, and other times a gene mutation is to blame.
A diagnosis of Amyloidosis may be difficult since the symptoms are so pervasive. The doctors take a microscopic tissue sample (biopsy) from the affected location to identify the specific form of Amyloidosis that is present. On that, the therapy strategy is built.
There is currently no cure for Amyloidosis. The amyloid deposits cannot be promptly removed.
