Dakota Lujan Car Accident and death profoundly impacted the Borger community as his life was abruptly cut short in a car accident near Hobbs, New Mexico.

Three Texas men were killed in an accident on U.S. Highway 62/180 and State Road 529 west of Hobbs on Wednesday morning.

According to my source from New Mexico State Police press release, Brady Steele, 47, of Dublin, Texas, Dakota Lujan, 25, of Fritch, Texas, and Nygel Key, 21, of Fritch, Texas, all received fatal injuries. The Office of the Medical Investigator declared them dead on the scene.

Dakota Lujan Obituary: Family Mourns His Death

Following Dakota’s untimely passing, an obituary was created to honor his life and allow people to express their condolences. 

Dakota Lane Lujan, 25, died on July 24, 2019, near Hobbs, New Mexico. Pastor Tim Hall will officiate at the funeral service at Grace Church on Tuesday at 10:00 am.

Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger will supervise the burial at Westlawn Memorial Park. Friends and family will gather at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday evening.

Dakota Lujan Car Accident: Tragic Death Explored

Dakota Lujan was born in 1994 in Borger, Texas, and grew up there. Many others loved him as a son, brother, and friend. Dakota’s life was tragically cut short on July 24, 2019, in an automobile accident in Hobbs, New Mexico.

According to the statement, State Police were summoned to the location at approximately 5:45 am. According to the announcement, a semi-truck operated by James Law, 60, of Hobbs, was going south on State Road 529 near the U.S. 62/180 intersection when it failed to stop for unclear reasons.

According to the announcement, the truck collided with Steele’s 1999 Dodge pickup, heading westbound on U.S. Highway 62/180. Law was unharmed in the collision but was penalized for failure to yield.

The pickup’s passengers were Lujan and Key. According to Police, drinking is not thought of, the drivers seem to have worn their seat belts properly, and alcohol doesn’t seem to have been a factor in the accident.

Who Was Dakota Lujan? Age And Family

He was born in Borger on March 29, 1994, to Amando Lujan and Shelia Westbrook Morrison. Dakota attended Sanford-Fritch High School and worked as a Pipefitter for Tracker Energy. 

He had many abilities and hobbies, including cowboying, riding his Harley, rodeoing, hunting, and general outdoor sports. He adored his friends, family, and the river and lake. His grandpa, Amando Molinar Lujan, died before him.

Dakota is survived by his Father, Amando Lujan, and his wife, Mandy, of Panhandle; his mother, Shelia Morrison, and her husband, Kevin, of Fritch; the mother of his child, Haylee Francis of Stinnett; and his daughter on the way, 

Dakota Lynn Lujan, his grandparents, Elia White Lujan of Fritch, Clifton and Ada Westbrook of Pampa, Mark and Debbie Price of Fritch, his brother, Austin Lujan and his wife, Ashley.
