Kamahlai Stewart will be up as a contender on Powerful Culinary educated season 2, which debuts after the Super Bowl on Sunday.

She previously appeared on TV News in 2021 after recording a viral video of Homestead Police Chief Jeff DeSimone shouting at her while pregnant. She was allegedly waiting at a drugstore for her five-year-old son’s prescription.

“I worked at an immigration law business, and my hobby was cooking. On the side, I was already catering for baby showers and family events… My spouse suggested that since I wasn’t satisfied, I resign and start my catering business.”

Although Kamahlai’s cooking is the heart of the Company, her husband is also an essential component of what makes House of Soul successful in the neighborhood.

“Maurice is always the one who goes above and beyond to ensure that we feed people. “He’s the face behind the mask, the one who always thinks outside the box,” Stewart explained. 

The couple has been married for three years and works together to ensure their neighborhood receives as many benefits as possible.

House of Soul collaborates with the Learn and Earn program to recruit youth, giving them skills and a place to go after school and during the summers.

“We try to do it once a month or quarterly; we have a box up there, and we ask our visitors to give shoes, coats, and other items of that type, and then folks in need come up and choose anything they want,” Stewart explained.
