Gunn has spoken about how it’s all going to work in his video describing the first slate he’s put together with producer Peter Safran – and it appears the much-delayed The Flash movie will be critical to closing out the old period and ushering off the new.

In his spiel, Gunn argues that The Flash, directed by Andy Muschietti and slated for release in June despite many obstacles, “resets the whole DC Universe.”

Given that the reality-bending Flashpoint storyline is likely a significant component of the film, it’s fascinating to learn that there will be some narrative thread connecting the previous Zack Snyder period of DC movies with the current Gods And Monsters concept.

Gunn called The Flash “a terrific movie that I enjoy” and stated that the four DC films are coming out this year, Shazam! The Flash, Blue Beetle, Fury of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will easily fit into his and Safran’s timeline.
