Why Is She Arrested?

They submitted the complaints and called for immediate action against Edirisuriya. In response to the gravity of the accusations and the complaints, the Colombo Computer Crime Investigation Division decided to act.
Edirisuriya was arrested at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport as she was about to depart for Singapore. This arrest occurred around 1.20 am on May 28, 2023, after completing the immigration and emigration procedures.
After the arrest, Edirisuriya was transported to the Computer Crime Investigation Division in Narahenpita, Colombo, where she remains in custody as further investigations are underway.
