Tragedy struck the Michigan State University (MSU) campus on Monday night when a gunman unleashed a hail of bullets, claiming the lives of three students and injuring five others.

On Tuesday afternoon, campus Police released the identities of two victims of the Michigan State University mass shooting – Brian Fraser and Alexandria Verner.

It was later confirmed that a third student, Arielle Diamond Anderson, was also among those who lost their lives at the hands of the suspected shooter, Anthony McRae.

Anthony Dwayne McRae, the man responsible for the terror on the MSU campus, reportedly took his own life as Police officers attempted to confront him on Tuesday.

The three victims of the Michigan State University shooting were a diverse group of individuals with unique qualities.

Brian Fraser, the fraternity president, was known for his impressive leadership skills. Arielle Diamond Anderson, who loved children, aspired to become a pediatrician.

Alexandria Verner was described as a top-notch student who embodied the idea of a “perfect kid.”

According to reports, Brian Fraser, a sophomore from Grosse Pointe, had been the president of the MSU Chapter of Phi Delta Theta.

Brian Fraser was a natural Leader who was studying business and economics. White, 20, said that Fraser’s eagerness to become fraternity president was evidence of his leadership skills.

District officials confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Arielle Diamond Anderson, a victim of the Michigan State University mass shooting, had graduated from Grosse Pointe North High School in 2021.

In a Tuesday email sent to local families, Clawson Public Schools Superintendent Billy Shellenbarger confirmed that Alexandria Verner, another victim, had graduated from Clawson High School in 2020.

Michael Frink, president of Clawson’s board of education, said that Alexandria was a great student who excelled academically and athletically. She used to play basketball and softball. 

On Tuesday, students and staff at Michigan State University were planning tributes to the mass shooting victims as memorials were being constructed on the campus.

MSU has announced a vigil to be held at 6 pm Wednesday at the Rock on Farm Lane as a gesture of support for the victims and to honor the first responders.

Arielle Diamond Anderson Parents And Family

Family members remembered seeing Arielle over the weekend and revealed that she had visited her mother, Dawana Davis, in Harper Woods, located just east of Detroit.

During her visit, Arielle spent time with her grandmother, April Davis, and an aunt with special needs and even attended a Detroit Pistons game with them. Anderson’s Father drove her back to school on Sunday morning.

Anderson’s aunt, Chandra Davis, a model known as Deelishis, took to Instagram on Monday evening to share that her niece was in a classroom in the same building as the shooter and had not been in touch.

Her friends and family posted social media tributes to Arielle Diamond Anderson, including one from a relative named ShayBaby on Instagram, who referred to Anderson as an “angel on earth.”

According to Kim Spivey, Anderson’s aunt, she was a top student and had aspirations of becoming a doctor. Spivey added that her mother wanted her to go to Wayne State, but she insisted on going to Michigan.

Despite being only 19 years old, Anderson had already earned enough credits to skip her sophomore year at Michigan State University and move up to a junior year.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Anderson enjoyed engaging in creative activities such as creating content for her YouTube channel, attending concerts, and spending quality time with her family.

According to Anderson’s aunt, photography was one of her favorite hobbies, and her artwork was showcased at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
