Mandy Stavik Killer Tim Bass faced public outrage. The young girl’s family was shattered after the untimely loss of their loved one. The entire globe was shocked after Stavik, 18, was brutally murdered.
More than Thirty years ago, in 1989, Mandy disappeared after going out for a jog. She was vengefully attacked while jogging in Acme, Washington.
It was only three days after Police found her lifeless body (nude – with only running shoes on) in the Nooksack River.
Concerned authorities and investigating officers believed Stavik had been sexually assaulted, knocked down, and brutally thrown into the river to drown.
Mandy’s murderer was a disguised man named Timothy Bass. The identified killer was convicted in Whatcom County Superior Court for the 1989 murder, physical violence, and sexual assault.
People found him a woman-hating racist, and he was arrested almost three decades after the teen’s murder.

Mandy Stavik Killer Tim Bass Arrested
Tim Bass was sentenced for kidnapping, sexually assaulting, and murdering Amanda, aka Mandy Stavik, an 18-year-old college student.
Stavik’s family and close ones were completely shattered by her brutal murder. The young college student had a great relationship with her basketball coach, Jim Freeman.
Mandy wrote an emotional writing in the reading card:
For Mr. Freeman, one of my favorite person who has influenced and inspired me. Thank you, you’re the greatest Sir.
Sincerely class of ’89, number 13, Mandy Stavik.
Mandy expressed her gratitude and admiration towards her basketball coach via a card.
Timothy Bass, shortly Tim Bass, was arrested on 12 December 2017. He was charged with first-degree murder.
However, the convicted man denied involvement in Stavik’s assault and murder.
He maintained his innocence, but the investigation proved that he was guilty and that Bass had first assaulted and then brutally left Mandy to drown in the river.
Stavik’s mom Mary Stavik learned about her daughter’s murderer’s arrest on her 81st birthday. She was satisfied to learn that her daughter finally received justice, although late waiting for nearly three decades.
Mandy’s loved ones might have found a little relief after the man who wronged her was arrested after so many years.

Mandy Stavik’s Loved Ones Mourned Her Loss
18-year-old college student Mandy Stavik’s brutal murder shocked her loved ones, and they mourn for the loss of their daughter.
Stavik’s parents were divorced, and her basketball coach Jim Freeman became like a Father figure for the student. Freeman was close to Mandy and saw her as her own child.
Jim gave the eulogy at her memorial service, attended by thousands of people, saying:
You see her (referring to his favorite student Mandy) smiling back at you right at your soul with eyes that speaks I love life.
His emotional eulogy spoke the truth about Mandy’s love for life.
Also, her Mother, Mary Stavik, said that her daughter Mandy wanted to do everything. “She played basketball, was a cheerleader, was a top student, and once dreamed of becoming an airline pilot.”
Moreover, Mandy’s older sister, Molly Brighton, said, “Mandy was larger than life. My sis accomplished a lot in the short time she was here.”
In short, Mandy was best at everything she did. She wanted to achieve big in life, but sadly, a criminal tore down her life-long achievements in seconds.

Mandy Stavik, an 18-year-old young college student brutal murder case, awakened the world to fight back against women’s brutality and road safety.
A positive side of this case was that the community came together and offered help to solve the 1989 teen murder case.
The Public’s help in solving the case helped the investigating officers to solve the murder mystery and find the criminal after more than two decades in 2017.
