Lucy West Suicide has her father devastated and in mourning, who described her as his best friend and soul mate.

An inquest heard how a father’s loss of his “best friend and soul mate” destroyed him after his daughter died following a long battle with alcoholism. 

Lucy Jane West, 34, of Guildford, died on June 19 and had a “substantial history of alcohol dependency” before her death, according to assistant coroner Karen Henderson, who spoke on Monday (September 6). 

The Woking Coroner’s Court was told that two days before her death, Ms. West had been staying at her father’s house, where she appeared happy.

The tragic death of Lucy Jane West, a 34-year-old woman from Guildford, has drawn attention to mental health issues and the terrible consequences of suicide. 

Lucy’s father, who regarded her as his greatest friend and soul mate, is devastated by the loss of his daughter, who battled alcoholism for numerous years.

The official report listed alcohol poisoning, cirrhosis of the liver, and inhalation pneumonitis as the reasons for the deceased’s death.

She had a long history of drinking and had a high blood alcohol level at the time of her death. Despite appearing to be in good spirits, Lucy bought cans of cider on the day she died. 

The causes of mortality were inhalation pneumonitis, alcohol poisoning, and liver cirrhosis, with alcohol-induced vomiting having a direct role. 

Lucy’s tragic story exemplifies the complexities of alcoholism and the catastrophic effects it can have on individuals and their loved ones.

Lucy West Suicide: What Happened To Her?

Ms. Henderson states, “Her mother indicated that alcohol had been a problem for Lucy for five years and that it eventually got the better of her.” 

She was trying everything she could to assist Lucy in overcoming her addiction, but it was getting increasingly difficult. She stated that on June 17, she was staying at his [Mr. West’s] house.

He had faith that she was on her way to recovery. The court was informed that on June 19, Ms. West went out and bought some cans of cider, despite sending her mother SMS messages indicating that everything was OK.

Her mother discovered her corpse after realizing she had died at her apartment. She had a blood alcohol level of 331 milligrams per 100 milliliters at the time, according to the toxicological data. 

In the statement read into the court as evidence by Ms. Henderson, Ms. West’s father claimed, “He indicated he was distraught that Lucy had died and that she was not only his daughter but also his closest friend and soul mate.” 

Ms. Henderson mentioned alcohol poisoning, cirrhosis of the liver, and inhalation pneumonitis as the causes of the decedent’s death in the official report.

Ms. Henderson expressed her heartfelt sympathies to the family, saying: “[Ms. West] had a five-year or longer history of alcohol abuse.

“This has resulted in medical consequences associated with alcoholism, such as liver cirrhosis.
