Letizia Pia Tagliafierro, 50, of Saugerties, died at home on May 23, 2023, surrounded by her friends and family. Letizia was born in Saugerties on March 26, 1973, to the late Michele (Mike) and Anna Tagliafierro.
Michael (Maureen), Helena (Renato), DiBella, Maria, Dennis (Andrea Ramos-Myers), Dominic, and Mario are her siblings. Her nieces and nephews include Michael (Jessica) Tagliafierro, Marco (Rosanna) Michela, Marina DiBella, John Paul, Michael, and Sophia Tagliafierro.

Immediate burial will occur in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Barclay Heights, Saugerties. Friends will be welcomed from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, May 26.

In 2007, the Albany Law School graduate was appointed as a special counsel to the commissioner of the state Division of Criminal Justice Services before joining the staff of then-state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo in his Buffalo office.
Tagliafierro was appointed director of intergovernmental affairs after Cuomo was elected governor.
She joined the newly formed state Joint Commission on Public Ethics, first as its director of investigations before rising to Executive director in 2013.
