Fans were concerned about Letitia Wright Health after her cancer rumors surfaced online; the actress was involved in a small stunt rig.

Letitia Wright is best known for her roles in television series like Humans, Chasing Shadows, and Black Mirror.

The Guyanese-British actress was named among the 2015 group of BAFTA Breakthrough Brits for her breakthrough role in the film Urban Hymn. 

The Panther sequel temporarily halted production while Letitia Wright continued to recover from injuries sustained during filming.

Letitia Wright Health Update – Sickness And Cancer Rumors

Following her injury, she was rumored of suffering from cancer which turned out to be false. 

But, her co-star Chadwick Boseman died from colon cancer in August 2020 at 43, and she admitted to being “devastated” by his death.

Chadwick’s death has changed Wright’s whole outlook on life, with the film star admitting she is “scared of losing people.”

Similarly, according to the news outlet, the actress struggled to sleep after Boseman’s death.

She was devasted that the COVID-19 pandemic had prevented her from traveling to attend a private memorial service for Bosman.

Additionally, when depression nearly eliminated “Black Panther” actress Letitia Wright from the field a few years ago, the disease affected her sense of self-worth, as it often does.

Letitia often tried to find her validation in acting and the acting world, so when she didn’t find the answer, that triggered the feeling of sadness.

Wright credits Christianity with helping her overcome depression after attending the London actor’s Bible study. Initially, she turned down film roles to focus on her recovery and faith.

In December 2020, Wright caused a backlash on Twitter for sharing a 69-minute video from her YouTube channel.

In the video, Tommy Arayomi, a senior leader of Light London church, questioned the legality of the COVID-19 vaccine and blamed China.

Wright later explained that she didn’t mean to hurt anyone and just wanted to make a video and was concerned about what injections we put into our bodies. 

The Hollywood Reporter reported in October 2021 that the actress parted ways with her US representation team due to complaints about the video and promotion of anti-vaccine sentiment.

However, Wright later took to social media to deny the claim.

Likewise, speaking with Variety in January 2022, Wakanda Forever, Angela Bassett, said she never heard Wright’s anti-vaccine sentiments during filming. 

Later that month, Wright slammed The Hollywood Reporter and the writer Scott Feinberg for an article that described the future of awards season as personally charged.

Moreover, she admitted that the publication and Feinberg had acted viciously and disgustingly against her.

Letitia Wright Early Life And Career Explored

Letitia Wright was born in Georgetown, Guyana, on October 31, 1993. 

When the actress was eight, her family migrated to London, England. She has one brother whose name is Ivan Bombocca.

Wright went to Northumberland Park Community School while her brother moved back to Europe.

Letitia was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Arts and Letters from the University of Guyana on February 1, 2023.

Wright performed in school plays, but in 2006, after watching the movie Akeelah and the Bee, she was sure she wanted to be a professional actress. 

Therefore, she enrolled in acting school at the age of 16. Eventually, in 2011, she appeared in a recurring role on Top Boy and two episodes of Holby City.

Afterward, Letitia was featured in numerous series and movies. In addition, she garnered a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Primetime Emmy Award.

In 2018, she starred in the film Black Panther in which she portrayed the role of Shuri, King T’Challa’s sister and princess of Wakanda.

Wright returned as Shuri for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as a leading role which featured Shuri becoming the new Black Panther after T’Challa’s death.
