John Matthew Salilig, a 24-year-old Adamson University Chemical Engineering student, went missing.

On Tuesday, the Public Information Unit of Cavite Police Provincial Office (PIU Cavite PPO) and Imus City Police Station (Imus CPS) pulled his body from a shallow grave inside the Jade Residences Subdivision in Barangay Malagasang, Imus City.

According to the primary eyewitness, Salilig died while attending his fraternity’s welcoming rites.

Authorities discovered the body of a 24-year-old college student in Bian, Laguna, who was allegedly killed in a fraternity hazing incident.

On Tuesday, February 28, an Adamson University student named John Matthew T. Salilig was discovered buried in a subdivision in Barangay Malagasang I-G.

According to Lt. Col. Michael Batoctoy, Officer-In-Charge of the Imus City Police Station (CPS), Bian CPS collaborated with their office to corroborate a witness’ statement.

The victim’s brother confirmed his identity.

The victim’s body, according to Batoctoy, was taken to a funeral home in Dasmarias for forensic examination.

In a statement on their Facebook page on February 28, Adamson University’s administration expressed their condolences to the victim’s family and friends.

According to the statement, the University is also conducting its own investigation and is already coordinating with authorities.

According to information received by Kossyderrickent, CCTV captured the killers of John Matthew Salilig, an engineering student at Adamson University who was found dead.

Dela Rosa the chair of the Senate Committee on Dangerous Drugs and Public Order, also urged fraternity seniors to educate their younger brothers to prevent hazing incidents. 

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian condemned Salilig’s death and said that Adamson University has launched an investigation.

On March 1, authorities arrested the Father of a suspect in the fraternity hazing that killed 24-year-old student John Matthew Salilig. 

They also served a search warrant to seize the vehicle allegedly used to transport Salilig’s body to Cavite, according to Lt. Col. Virgilio M. Jopia, Chief of the Bihan City Police Station (CPS). 

When Police arrived at the suspect’s Paraaque home, the suspect’s Father allegedly tried to stop them from serving the warrant, resulting in his arrest.

Jopia stated that, besides the arrested Father, six people are currently being investigated in connection with the case, three of whom are Adamson University students.

The body was recovered from a shallow grave on Tuesday inside the Jade Residences Subdivision in Barangay Malagasang, Imus City, by the Public Information Unit of Cavite Police Provincial Office (PIU Cavite PPO) and Imus City Police Station (Imus CPS).
