Jiah Khan Autopsy Report Confirms Suicide by Hanging with No Signs of Struggle or External Injuries
Jiah Khan was a British-Indian Actress.
In 2007, Jiah Khan entered the film industry with Ram Gopal Verma’s movie “Nishabd” and received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
Her portrayal of a self-reliant and contemporary woman in “Ghajini” was widely appreciated.
The film, released in 2008, emerged as the top-grossing Bollywood movie of that year, further cementing Jiah’s position as an accomplished Actor.
She showcased her talent in various Bollywood films, including “Nishabd” (2007) opposite Amitabh Bachchan, “Ghajini” (2008), “Housefull” (2010), and “No Problem” (2010), and was admired for her natural acting style and beauty.

As per the Jiah Khan autopsy report, the cause of her death was determined to be suicide by hanging, and no external injuries or signs of struggle were discovered.
Following the post-mortem examination conducted at JJ Hospital in Byculla, Jiah Khan’s body was transported back to her residence at approximately 7:00 am.
Jiah’s lifeless body was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in her Mumbai apartment on June 3, 2013.
During the investigation, the Police discovered a six-page suicide note in which Jiah had expressed her mental distress and dissatisfaction with her personal and professional life.
Initially, Jiah’s family contested the suicide ruling and accused her of foul play in her death.
Nevertheless, in 2016, the Bombay High Court upheld the suicide verdict and denied their plea for a fresh inquiry.
On the other hand, Rabia Khan, Jiah’s mother, has been pursuing justice for her daughter and remains convinced that she was murdered.
Sooraj Pancholi, an Actor who was in a relationship with Jiah, is currently on trial for the alleged abetment of Jiah’s suicide under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code, according to IndianExpress)
A special CBI court is expected to announce the verdict on the case against him on Friday.
Was Jiah Khan Pregnant?
According to the reports, Jiah Khan was pregnant a few months before her death.
According to the charge sheet, Jiah’s boyfriend, Sooraj Pancholi, gave her medication to terminate the pregnancy and flushed the fetus down the toilet.
The CBI has alleged that Jiah learned about her pregnancy four weeks after it occurred and informed Sooraj, who then took her to a gynecologist for an abortion.
The gynecologist provided Jiah with some medication to terminate the pregnancy.
Sooraj Pancholi Taken into Police Custody During Jiah Khan Suicide Investigation: Latest Update
During the investigation into Jiah Khan’s suicide, Sooraj Pancholi, who resided with her, was taken into Police custody on June 10, 2013.
Jiah had mentioned in her suicide note that Sooraj used to abuse and torture her physically. Sooraj was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on July 2, 2013.
However, on July 3, 2014, a year after Jiah’s death, the High Court ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the case further.
The CBI raided Sooraj Pancholi’s House in May 2015, and a supplementary chargesheet was filed against him in December of the same year.
In August 2016, the CBI ruled out murder and confirmed Jiah Khan’s death as a suicide.
Rabia Khan hired a British forensic expert who claimed the death was staged, but Aditya Pancholi disproved this. Sooraj requested the Mumbai High Court to expedite the trial in October 2016.
In 2018, a special CBI court rejected a plea for further investigation against Sooraj Pancholi.
In 2021, Jiah Khan’s case was reassigned to a special CBI court, and in 2022, the Mumbai High Court dismissed Rabia Khan’s petition seeking a fresh investigation.
The case is now reserved for verdict after final arguments on April 20, 2023.
